Performing
In the words of Uncle Albert, who I played in my fifth-grade production of Mary Poppins:
“I love to laugh, loud and long and clear!”
Circus of Smiles
Since 2013 through partnerships with schools and libraries, Mr. Mustache and I, offer affordable and empowering circus experiences to youth and their families. Circus of Smiles offers 100+ free shows a year in Northern California through the Friends of Libraries.
We create a space for families to gather together in laughter helping them release tensions and imagine a world of possibilities.
Creator, Writer, Actor:
Press Here: The Musical
Have you read the children's book, Press Here? I highly recommend engaging with this book and a 3 year old you know. After experiencing this captivating book, I knew it needed to be brought to the stage.
In my final year of seminary I created and acted in my first written theatrical production of Press Here! The Musical for the Bay Area Children’s Theatre. Mixing juggling and audience participation, I dreamed up an interactive musical that enlivens the kid in everyone.
Santa Cruz Shakespeare
In 2013 I had the privilege of performing as a member of the acting company for Santa Cruz Shakespeare. It was delightful to return to a company that I partnered with as an acting intern, carpenter, and stage-manager while studying at UC Santa Cruz.
Bay Area Children’s Theatre
I regularly partner with the Bay Area Children’s Theatre on productions, Including the West and East coast tours of, Ladybug Girl and Bumble Bee Boy: The Musical (yes, I played Bingo the dog, pictured here). I performed in their Bay Area elementary school tour, Rock the Block, and played a somewhat despondent lump of coal in the holiday show, Lemony Snicket’s The Lump of Coal.
Pi Clowns
While in college I met a group of fools. Together, we created a physical comedy troupe.
We studied at the Clown College at the Circus Center in SF, and spent our summers touring North American Fringe Theatre Festivals. It was here I learned the importance of looking at the world through a lens of wonder.
